Dressing For Success In Your Home Based Business

Just because you work from home doesn’t mean that what you’re wearing isn’t important. What do I mean you ask? Well let me explain…

Ok so it actually doesn’t matter what you’re wearing what you’re working AT home. What I’m talking about is how you present yourself when you’re out in the real world. You might think that it doesn’t matter what you wear if you’re not at work but in a home based business you should always be ready to talk to someone about your business. Think of yourself as a hunter and anytime you leave the house your hunting ground.

You can find prospects at the grocery store, in line at the post office, at your child’s school or at the doctors office. Anywhere there is people there is a chance to build your business. So the way that you present yourself is always important. That doesn’t mean that you have to wear a suit and tie to your son’s baseball game it just means that you need to put a little extra effort into the way you look before you leave the house.

The same thing is important when you’re choosing what to wear to a local business meeting or a big company event. If you want your prospects to take you seriously you need to make it clear that you take your business seriously. People will want to be in business with you when you look like someone who can help them make a lot of money.

And the way that you look doesn’t just have to do with what you’re wearing. Keeping up your hair and if you’re a woman your makeup is also important if you want to give off the vibe of success and professionalism.

If you are always ready to have a conversation about your business you will be prepared when you run into someone at the bank who is talking about how much they hate their job. Or when you strike up a conversation with a single mom who needs some extra money. Like the boy scouts say always be prepared!

When you look good you’ll be comfortable and confident talking to anyone about your business in any situation. And that will help your check to grow more this year than ever before.

Getting Down To What Really Matters In Your Home Based Business

Are you letting your home based business get too complicated? Are you so bogged down with trying new things and using new marketing tools that you’ve lost track of what network marketing is really all about? If so it’s time to get back to basics.

Network marketing is a people to people business. So if you’re not talking to a lot of people on a regular basis you’re missing out on the true essence of the business and you could be missing out on a whole lot of money as well!

The way you come into contact with people about your business really doesn’t matter. You can call a list of leads, invite people to local meetings, send out emails, or use internet marketing. The point isn’t really how you do it it’s how often you do it.

The more people that you introduce the business too each month the better because network marketing is really all about numbers. Sometimes it takes a whole lot of “no’s” to get to a “yes”. So by talking to as many people as possible as quickly as possible you’ll get lots of sign ups and earn more money.

So if network marketing is all about talking to people where do so many people go wrong? It’s not that they’ve forgotten what the business is all about they just get distracted. With creating new ad campaigns and writing new phone scripts and working with your team and a million other things it’s very easy to forget about what your real objective is.

At the end of the day it’s all about selling your products and building a downline. Anything else is just a waste of your time.

Stop being distracted by things that don’t make you any money. Start building your business faster by cutting through the distractions and getting back to basics.

How To Build A Home Based Business Even If You’re Shy

It is a common misconception that in order to be successful in a home base business you have to have a big, bold, type A personality. This is just not true. In fact, plenty of people in network marketing are very shy when they first start out in the business.

There is no one personality type that you have to have to become successful in network marketing. The important thing is that you want to succeed and you’re willing to listen to other people and learn what you need to do to make money in your business.

So how are some people able to get past the shyness and learn to talk to the amount of people they need to talk to in order to make money in a home based business? While some people would argue that you just need to work your way through it and jump on the phones right away I believe the answer can be found elsewhere… on the internet. Internet marketing allows you to build a business without the awkward cold calling many network marketers use.

You will still have to talk to people of course, network marketing is and always will be a people business. However, the people you talk to will most likely already be interested in your business and know a little bit about it. That is what makes the conversation easier and it gives you a little bit of the control back.

What I mean is that when you are picking up the phone and cold calling someone they have all the power. They can choose to talk to you or blow you off. They can choose to be rude to you or pleasant to you. You need them, they don’t need you.

However, when you post different marketing tools online and wait for the prospect to call you, you will almost always get a friendly, kind and responsive person on the other end of the line. This is great for people who have a shy personality because no matter how shy you are everyone can pick up the phone and talk to someone who desperately wants to talk to them.

Internet marketing makes working from home easier. Not just for someone who is shy but for anyone who is tired to calling people all day and want the prospects to come to them.

Are We Aliens? No, We’re Network Marketers!

Let’s just be honest. True MLMers are a rare breed. You’d think with all the companies out there and the fact that our country is in the middle of a huge economic crisis that you’d run into network marketers all the time. However, even with more and more people deciding to start a career at home people who work in the network marketing industry can still feel a little… dare I say it… weird.

The idea of not wanting to “just get a regular job” is completely alien to most people. So if you’re going to make network marketing your full time career (or you want it to be one day) you’re going to have to get use to the idea that some people are just not going to understand it!

Many people feel embarrassed or ashamed when they tell their friends and family about their new home based business. And when you’re embarrassed of something the chances of you doing well in it are very slim. It’s important that you are able to shake off any negative comments or criticism that you might face and just keep on building your business no matter what.

The truth is that network marketers, while perhaps a little different from the average American are really not that weird at all. We’re just people who enjoy money (who doesn’t) and freedom (again, who doesn’t) and believe that we should be able to have them both at the same time.

Most people believe that part of having a good income means giving up huge amounts of time out of your week. Network marketers know that that’s simply not the case. They know that if you are willing to work hard in the beginning you can build a business that will pay you for years and years to come even if you’re hardly working at all! This is the beauty of MLM and this is what makes it so appealing to so many people.

So when you think about it. Network marketers really aren’t that weird at all.

Perhaps we’re the sane ones for believing in having all the time and money we need to live the life we REALLY want to live instead of the life our job allows us to have. Perhaps we’re not the aliens after all.

2010 is here and guess what, cloning is now possible! I know this because there are a ton of home based business clones out there… you could be one of them and you don’t even know it.

Are you a home based business clone or are you one of the few who are original?

In a home based business it’s always a good idea to look at what the most successful people in your business are doing and try to follow them. After all they must know what they’re talking about if they make a lot of money right? However, if you really want to be successful in your business you’re going to have to learn how to find your own identity. You can’t stay a home based business clone forever.

One of the great things about a home based business is that so many different types of people from all walks of life can be successful working from home. School teachers, bus drivers, doctors, executives, stay at home moms, waitresses, anyone and everyone can make money in a home base business. So why is it that we all end up looking and sounding the same.

People want to be in business with someone who reminds them of themselves, it’s a fact. So while you should defiantly learn from other successful people you shouldn’t have to copy the way they dress, move and talk. You should be as much of yourself as humanly possible.

Individuality is a good thing when you own your own business. There are thousands of people in your chosen business so you’d better be able to stand out and give people a reason to do business with you.

Also, the more diverse a business appears the better it will do. If people can look out into the landscape of the business and see themselves they will be more inclined to join.

So the next time you are talking to a prospect don’t try to copy someone else, just be yourself. You don’t have to be a home based business clone. You can be incredibly successful just by being you!

How Many Prospects Should You Be Calling Per Day?

There are all kinds of different ways to market a home based business. However, one of the most popular methods is buying a list of leads and calling them each and every day. This can be a rather grueling way of doing the business but it can also be really effective.

In order to do this method effectively you need to call a certain number of prospects every single day and you need to do it with consistency. So how many people should you be talking to each day? That can be a hard question to answer but here are some helpful tips.

First of all you want to think of the amount of leads you currently have. Are you on a leads service that sends you a specific amount every week or month? Or do you just have one big huge list and that’s it? Also you want to think about how many days per week you plan on calling leads. Do you want to call Monday through Friday or do you want to call on the weekend too? Taking all of those variables into account is very important .

If you want to call 5 days a week I would recommend calling people Sunday through Thursday. Here is why, Friday and Saturday are not good days to call people about a business. That’s because people are in a good mood over the weekend. It is during the work week when people are most receptive to something like a home based business because they’re thinking about how much they don’t like their job. Sunday they are dreading going back to work and by Friday they’re already in weekend mode so that’s not a good calling day.

Once you know the number of days you want to call and which days you plan to call on you need to divide your number of leads between the days. Usually 300 is a good number to shoot for. If you can make 300 calls per day you’ll be on your way to success rather quickly. Of course you may not be able to make 300 calls every day but it’s a good number to work towards.

Keep in mind that the more people you call faster the more success you will have in a shorter period of time.

Every home based business owner today should have a blog. However, many people think that they’re too difficult or that they’re not worth creating. When the truth is that done correctly a successful highly trafficked blog can make you a lot of money and help you generate a lot of prospects. So if you’ve been thinking about creating a blog for a while now but you’ve never done one or if you have a blog that you think needs to be reworked here are a few tips that should help you created a better home business blog. This is not a step by step guide because that would take too long just a few tips that I feel might be helpful. I hope you enjoy.

First of all you always want to start out by hosting your own blog. Lots of people use sub-domains but those don’t really come off as very professional. Also if Wordpress or Blogger doesn’t like your blog they can rip it down for no reason at all. That’s not a position you want to find yourself in. So make sure you have hosting and that you can host your blog yourself.

Also, you want to have a good domain name for your blog. Keywords are always a good thing to think about and you want to end with .com whenever possible. .Org or .Net is ok if you can find a really good one but only if it’s really good otherwise use .Com.

You should also be updating your blog fairly often. About 3 – 5 times a week is best. Update it too often and it’s a waste. Don’t update it enough and people will stop visiting it Try to keep your posts interesting and try to give the people reading your posts some valuable information. That is what will keep them coming back.

Also, you should think a lot about keywords when writing in your blog. Keywords are a big part of what will bring new viewers into your blog. So try to find some really good keywords and use them as much as you possibly can without it being annoying or obvious what you’re doing.

Make the design of your blog stand out and look interesting. This will help people remember you. Some people look at tons of home based business blogs. And they will remember the ones that are the most unique. If you’re not good at creating stuff like that you can hire a blog designer for a very reasonable price online.

For one thing it makes keeping up with everyone super simple. So if you want to share ideas with multiple people Facebook makes it really easy. Facebook is also very easy to learn. So if you’re not very comfortable working online this is a good place to start. You can also put up articles and videos on Facebook which allows you to reach lots of potential prospects at the same time. And you can combine your work life with your personal life which makes things easy.

2. Wahm.com/forum – Forums are great because they are a place where likeminded people can come together, share ideas and get motivated. This is a great forum for any woman who works from home or wants to work from home. This is a website just for women which makes it accessible and everyone is very friendly and helpful. It’s also a great place to go to market your business because many people come there looking for a home based business that might be right for them.

3. CafeMom.com – This website is not just for work at home moms. It’s just for moms in general. But that’s what makes it so great. It has a great community of women who work from home so you can network and learn from successful women. And it also has a great number of people who you can market to so it’s good for multi-taking. Plus you get to talk about your kids which every mom loves to do!
