Ok so it actually doesn’t matter what you’re wearing what you’re working AT home. What I’m talking about is how you present yourself when you’re out in the real world. You might think that it doesn’t matter what you wear if you’re not at work but in a home based business you should always be ready to talk to someone about your business. Think of yourself as a hunter and anytime you leave the house your hunting ground.
You can find prospects at the grocery store, in line at the post office, at your child’s school or at the doctors office. Anywhere there is people there is a chance to build your business. So the way that you present yourself is always important. That doesn’t mean that you have to wear a suit and tie to your son’s baseball game it just means that you need to put a little extra effort into the way you look before you leave the house.
The same thing is important when you’re choosing what to wear to a local business meeting or a big company event. If you want your prospects to take you seriously you need to make it clear that you take your business seriously. People will want to be in business with you when you look like someone who can help them make a lot of money.
And the way that you look doesn’t just have to do with what you’re wearing. Keeping up your hair and if you’re a woman your makeup is also important if you want to give off the vibe of success and professionalism.
If you are always ready to have a conversation about your business you will be prepared when you run into someone at the bank who is talking about how much they hate their job. Or when you strike up a conversation with a single mom who needs some extra money. Like the boy scouts say always be prepared!
When you look good you’ll be comfortable and confident talking to anyone about your business in any situation. And that will help your check to grow more this year than ever before.
