Where Are People Moving In America?
I took some time to look at some data from sources around the Internet today.
There are studies all the time tracking movement of our population and where they go.
Here is a graph I want to share with you.
I would have thought more of the “Sun Belt” states would be in the High Inbound category. It looks like everyone is moving out of California’s high taxes and cost of living.
Idaho, Oregon, and Nevada are High Inbound States.
Happily Texas is a strong Inbound State and for good reason.
The North Central to the North East is suffering I assume from the cold and lack of jobs and high taxes.
If you own Real Estate, I have found watching these type of studies to be very useful. Shifts in population are big long term indicators of wealth transfers. People need to live somewhere and when they are moving on this scale, opportunities are created.
